Be cautious of unusually low prices, unnecessary urgency and requests for sensitive information.
Protect your information
Never share passwords, one-time codes, card details or unnecessary identity documents. Ask for current photographs or a live video of the specific bird or item, but remember that digital material can still be misleading.
Meet and inspect safely
Meet during daylight in a public or familiar place where practical, tell someone where you are going and avoid going alone. Confirm that the bird or item matches the description and photographs. Ask about age, health history, care and ownership, and use an independent veterinarian or experienced keeper where health or breed is important.
Payments and delivery
Payments, collection and delivery are arranged directly between users. Maalzo does not hold funds, provide escrow or guarantee delivery. Avoid advance payment for an unverified listing, check payment details, keep a record of the agreement and do not treat a screenshot as proof of payment.
Biosecurity and transport
Follow sensible hygiene and biosecurity precautions when handling birds or visiting another collection. Consider animal welfare, transport conditions and applicable legal requirements before arranging delivery of a live bird.
Wildlife and animal welfare
Do not buy, sell or transport protected, illegally captured or unlawfully traded wildlife. Users must check rules applying to the species and location. Content suggesting cruelty, fighting, neglect or unsafe treatment should be reported and may be removed.
Report suspicious activity
Stop communicating if a user becomes threatening, seeks sensitive information or pressures you to act quickly. Email the listing or conversation reference and supporting evidence to support@maalzo.com. If a person or animal is in immediate danger, or you suspect a crime, contact the appropriate local authority. Maalzo support is not an emergency service.
